RED RHINO OUTREACH PROJECT

For more than 20 years, Red Rhino Outreach Project has been committed to transforming lives in Kenya through compassion, education, and opportunity. What began as a children's home for abandoned and vulnerable children has grown into a thriving outreach organization serving hundreds of children, young adults, and families through educational support, mentorship, community programs, and life-changing opportunities. Our mission is to empower some of the world's most disadvantaged children and young adults, primarily through education, to become contributing members of society and leaders of the next generation. Today, our work extends far beyond the walls of our original home. Through programs such as educational sponsorships, the Joey Shepherd Resource Center, life skills training, nutrition initiatives, and support for vulnerable women and children, we partner with local communities to create lasting, sustainable change. As we celebrate 20 years of impact, one of our greatest successes is seeing the children who once depended on Red Rhino grow into confident, compassionate adults who are now helping shape the future of our organization and their communities. Their stories are a testament to what is possible when hope is nurtured, education is prioritized, and lives are transformed over time. At Red Rhino Outreach Project, we believe lasting change happens through relationships, opportunity, and investing in people, not just for today, but for generations to come.

Red Rhino Outreach Project started 20 years ago as an Orphanage Project in Nairobi Kenya, housing, caring for, and providing hope to orphaned babies and toddlers. Now that many of the children have gone through elementary & high school, as well as university, we our focus is to give them guidance and help in this important stage of their journey to becoming productive members of Kenyan society. Since most of the children have grown, we have several outreach programs to help the community. We have a feeding program in our local schools, providing nutritious breakfast and lunch to 725 children/day. We are also a tuition assistance program for 200+ of the poorest students from our area. We are an academic resource center in Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi. The Joey Shepherd Red Rhino Resource Center is where we provide after school academic tuition, STEM training, and crucial life skills for 50+ orphans, grades 106. All are served up with heavy doses of love and joy in an area where these are rare commodities. We are also a ministry to the very young children in the women's prisons in Mombasa, whose mother are incarcerated there, through the efforts of Sister Agatha. We are her sole financial support in this ministry. Sister brings medicines, toiletries, fruit, eggs, etc to the four years old and under kids who are there with their mothers. She has devoted her life to caring for these children and their mothers.
