We need hardworking, talented students to help set up and manage a fundraising event. Our organization, Friends Outside, helps people make the transition back into the community after jail or prison. We offer housing, job coaching, and mentorship for people who deserve a second chance in life. This event is our first fundraiser in Stockton and we expect local business leaders, nonprofit leaders, politicians, and other community leaders. It will be a fun evening and a great volunteer experience.
The volunteer crew will be doing the following:
- Setup at the BellaVista Rooftop event center in downtown Stockton (9am - 1pm)
- unload trucks
- setup stage and podium, table place settings, balloons, signage, check-in table, auction items
- You will be lifting and loading, but there will be plenty of help with heavy items
- Work the event and ensure a great guest experience (call time is 3:30 pm, event runs 4:30-7:30 pm)
- volunteers will be assigned duties onsite to include:
- sidewalk and stairs/elevator greeters
- check-in table
- auction item tables
- Take-down and cleanup (7:30-10:00 pm or until we're done)
- pack up all decor, signage, equipment
- sweep and clear garbage
Please dress in work clothing for the morning setup. Please wear black for the event -- we will provide black Friends Outside t-shirts for you to wear. If you have an iPhone, we may ask you to install our fundraising app on your phone so that you can check-in guests and process donations and auction payments with your phone.
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to jump in and help with anything, be flexible, and most important are passionate about improving our community and helping a great cause!
