Volunteer: Volunteer Reader for Rotary Read-In

35th Annual Rotary Read-In
Thursday, February 26, 2026 @ 10am

Please join us for this special opportunity to promote literacy in our community by signing up for this awesome annual event. It only takes a half-hour of your time but provides children with a great learning experience and you with a very rewarding time.

You will be assigned to a K-3 Grade classroom at an elementary school from the Lincoln Unified District. As part of this commitment, you will need to buy an age-appropriate book to read on this special day and then leave the book at the school as a donation. Barnes & Noble is offering a 20% discount when you mention the Rotary Read-In at checkout. There is a suggested book list on our website at https://www.stocktonrotaryreadin.org/Suggested-Book-List.

If you are a student and need assistance with the book purchase to read and leave as a donation at your assigned elementary, PLEASE EMAIL US AT volunteercenter@pacific.edu by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2026.

This year, the Rotary Read-In needs 774 volunteers to read at a total of 67 schools within SUSD, LUSD, SJCOE, and Stockton schools in Lodi Unified and Manteca Unified and we get the opportunity to assist in two local elementary schools this year.

8 readers needed – Colonial Heights, 8135 Balboa Avenue, Stockton, CA 95209

8 readers needed – Don Riggio, 3110 Brookside Road, Stockton, CA 95219

Please ensure your schedule allows you to arrive on time and stay for the entire half an hour, allocating travel time to and from school site.

You will receive an email with your school assignation. In the event that you cannot make it, please share this opportunity with a colleague or friend that can go in your place. The school and the classroom is depending on you when you sign up to become a volunteer reader.
