Who We Are

Welcome! What a joy it is for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about
all the good things God is doing in our lives!

Since First Baptist began in 1853 it has been our mission to love our neighbor and our God, as He brings life transformation to us and to our community. That means that no matter what you have come from or where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you. God loves you and wants to help you become the best version of yourself; to become who He created you to be! A person whose life reflects His glory.

Here’s all you need to know before you show up for your first Sunday morning gathering:

Come as you are. You don’t need any manual to figure out how to fit in. Jesus simply says: “Come to Me” and we say the same. Just come as you are!

What We Do

OUR VALUES

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice
(2 Timothy 3:16 – 17; Hebrews 4:12).

We value listening and talking with the Lord through the gift of prayer.
(Philippians 4:6; Colossians 4:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).

We value worship of the Lord Jesus Christ in all that we do, as a corporate body, and as an individual lifestyle.
(Romans 12:1; John 4:24; Psalms 34:3).

Fellowship is the partnership with others of like mind, who have the common desire to follow in Christ’s footsteps.
(1 Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 4:1-6).

Discipleship is a process of becoming like Jesus and is the responsibility of each Christian to take personal ownership for their own spiritual maturity.
(Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2; John 8:31)

We believe that God has called and uniquely gifted every believer to serve in the Body of Christ.
(Ephesians 2:10; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 4:10).

As Christ’s ambassadors we are called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people locally and globally.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Acts 4:12; 2 Corinthians 5:20).

We value marriage as a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman that reflects Christ’s relationship with His church.
(Ephesians 5:21; Ephesians 5:33).

We believe God is worthy of our very best. Therefore, our lives should exemplify a spirit of excellence knowing that it honors God and inspires people.
(Colossians 3:17; Colossians 3:23; 2 Timothy 2:15).
